Woman In Mind - by Alan Ayckbourn
- The central character of this play is Susan, a vicar's wife troubled with a loveless marriage, a dull home life and thoughts of a life wasted. Her husband Gerald is more interested in parish records than her; her irritating, bossy sister-in-law Muriel is driving her slowly round the bend and her son has left home to join a religious sect in Hemel Hempstead.
-
- To cope with the unceasing ennui, Susan invents a fantasy life and daydreams happily about a loving husband, a devoted daughter and a jolly, friendly sister to replace the family that exists in real life. When Susan falls over the garden rake, real world and fantasy world collide, leaving her unable to tell the diffference between what is real and what is imagined, with disastrous consequences.
