Black Comedy - by Peter Shaffer
- In this play, by Tony Award winning writer Peter Shaffer, the usual conditions of light and dark are reversed: when the lights are 'on' we see nothing but darkness; when they are 'off' we see the characters behaving as if they were in a black-out. Sculptor Brindsley and his fiancée Carol hope to persuade a German art collector to buy Brindsley's work, and also to persuade Carol's father that Brindsley can support her financially. To improve his chances Brindsley has 'borrowed' antiques from his holidaying neighbour, Harold Gorringe.

- A power cut, followed by the early return of the neighbour and the unexpected arrival of Brindsley's ex- girlfriend Clea, intent on winning him back, throw the evening into chaos. Add a German electrician mistaken for the art collector, and, well, you get the picture.
